ForecastPing (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the ForecastPing mobile application (“the App”) handles information.

1. Overview

ForecastPing is designed to be privacy-friendly.
Most data remains stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

We do not require user accounts.
We do not collect personal information through our own backend servers.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The following information is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to us:

• Temperature unit preference (Fahrenheit or Celsius)
• Notification settings (enabled/disabled, time of day)
• Reminder rules and custom reminder items
• Manually saved location (if applicable)
• Location mode preference (automatic or manual)

This information is used solely to operate the App’s features.

3. Location Information

If you enable location access, the App may access your device’s GPS location to retrieve local weather data.

Important:

• Your coordinates are sent directly from your device to Open-Meteo’s weather API.
• Location data is not sent to or stored on our servers.
• We do not retain or log your location history.

You may disable location access at any time in your device settings.

4. Third-Party Services

ForecastPing uses the following third-party services:

Open-Meteo

Used to retrieve weather forecast data.
Your device sends latitude and longitude coordinates directly to Open-Meteo to receive weather information.

RevenueCat

Used to manage subscription status and in-app purchases.
RevenueCat receives anonymous device identifiers necessary to validate and manage subscriptions.

Apple App Store / Google Play

Payments and subscription transactions are processed by Apple or Google.
We do not receive your payment information.

5. What We Do Not Collect

ForecastPing does not:

• Require user accounts
• Store personal data on our servers
• Collect names, emails, or contact information
• Track browsing history
• Sell user data

Although a backend database structure exists, it is not used by the App and does not store user data.

6. Data Security

Because most information is stored locally on your device, you control your data.
We implement reasonable technical measures to ensure secure communication with third-party APIs.

7. Children’s Privacy

ForecastPing does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the effective date above.
